Saelicenos origins

INTRODUCTION
Saelices is a small town of approximately 639 inhabitants in 2012, located at kilometre 102 of the NIII, Madrid - Valencia. It has an altitude above the sea of 927metros.An extension of 80,62 km2 and a density of 8, 17habKm². Its coordinates are latitude: 40 ° 55´ 00´´ N. length: 002 ° 16´ 59´´ or.Saelices is 74 kilometers from Cuenca, 102 Madrid and Valencia 254. This small town of gentilicio saeliceno belongs to the community of Castilla La Mancha.
Saelices is a town that many years ago had a higher population, tripling what today may have. At the same time had many shops within the village and you tejares in the surroundings of the village. It is a village mainly agricultural and livestock, although this last was diminishing. It was never a small industry that Excel, although in recent years industrial area located some companies, including a cheese factory which was in the Centre of the village, a service area and some ships more dedicated above all to the world of construction. We must also highlight an excellent restaurant at the entrance of the village, next to a few detached houses of new construction, bars in the downtown area of the town and a small supermarket.
We could not pass up Saelices relationship with Segóbriga, Roman city dating from the 1st century BC The life of a saeliceno cannot be understood without Segóbriga for several reasons that will later explain and that are innate in nature and idiosyncrasies of those born in this town that held one of their two parties in the same Segóbriga, specifically: La Romería of the Virgen de los Remedios where the Virgin is carried on the shoulders of the saelicenos to a chapel which is about 3 kilometers approximately of the peopleThis Chapel is located in one of the higher areas of the Roman city (Segóbriga). Also bear in mind the close relationship of other stocks such as: Almonacid del Marquesado, Villamayor de Santiago, Ucles, Villarrubio, Montalvo, milestone, field Carrascosa, Huete, Horcajo de Santiago, Villarejo de Fuentes, Rozalén del Monte, Tribaldos, Tarancón and many peoples rather than had and have their relationship with Saelices, but it would be very long to put them here, this is why I put the next.
Would not understand very well either to the saelicenos without its surroundings as: Las Casas de Luján, La Garita, El Castillo, Villa Paz, Gascon, old Villas, Fuencaliente, El Pinguruzo, Las Canteras, Las Navas, the Chozo Gasparin, the tank, the source La Mar, la Teja, the sand source, El Pozo Arnao and some spaces that made it this town its charmso I apologize for not putting all and each one of them with the utmost detail knowing that left me certainly places with a special charm, but that by carelessness or cluelessness I skip, taking into account the limitations at the time of writing and making a true exercise in synthesis of a town that deserves a rigorous attention, town in which I was born, to which I always was very United, even in the distance since I lived almost always in Madrid, but took more than eleven years here.
The idea of doing a book on Saelices was around my head there for the year 2011-12, always with the idea to compile the most comprehensive way possible, more truthful and documented information. I've noticed that this writing is not easy, need to spend a lot of time and perhaps where less time is used is in writing, but where in the collection, study and reading books that will guide you on what you want to write, maybe when you finish this book my fruit will be rewarded, because one thing that I like to do and I guess that I feel me very well when it is complete.
I want to first apologize to all those who don't see reflected their ideas with respect to the people, as well as places that I found could ignore for reasons of cluelessness, but surely you understand that it is impossible not to forget something. On the other hand this book not tries to be a book of "dogma of faith", and can be modified in a second edition if there is place for this for corrections.
The book is divided into two large blocks: Saelices and Segóbriga, the first and most extensive thefive Saelices; origins, customs, places, traditions, culture, etc. The second block will be devoted to Segóbriga; your environment, your past, the peoples before them and also after, to the history of art. There will be common in both shared in our origins as a people to where we can go back that I have in this case set as such: the Olcades and Carpetanos already organized as towns, of course there were human organized into tribes before Olcades and Carpetanos! But they were not organized as we understand today the Court and village administratively speaking, or did so very differently so we can not ensure a good explanation and structure of how they lived, they were organized, etc.
This book will discuss history of art, there will be opinions, especially mine! But also saelicenos that taught me many things from these places. Not policy, will discuss this book nor of the people, we will try to be respectful with the identity, culture and traditions of each person and corner of this humble but fruitful village so that future generations can have a "common thread" know, disclose, and definitely don't miss our culture and folklore, legacy that on the other hand we must be as clean and intact to our children and grandchildren.
This book will feature a foreword to be able to orient the reader in reading, but also so that as you a guide and you may proceed with better detail what in the is written. Two forms will dominate the shape of the story, a based on dates and (historical) data and the second in a novel where the stories will be consistent with the reality experienced in my childhood, but also through our times and its evolution trying to create a chronological events whenever possible.
I thank all those who once helped me and made possible with your information this little book dedicated to Saelices, Segóbriga and its surroundings.
Dedicated to all the saelicenos.
